Gallery Department returns to surprise through a second collaboration with Lanvin.
The partnership is impressive not only because of the mysterious nature of the brand founded by Josué Thomas in 2017, but also and mostly considering the fact that its closure was announced just a few months ago.
The brand, worn by stars like Migos and LeBron James, had already teamed up with Lanvin, achieving a stunning result. The luxury label, in fact, gave carte blanche to Thomas, allowing him to experiment with a hybrid collection between haute couture and his unusual creativity.
Once again, from the union of Lanvin x Gallery Department, emerges a completely original urban style, with iconic pieces transformed by an artistic touch. The collection brings in a total sense of energy and freedom, through garments decorated with go-to techniques such as paint drops, sweatshirts and sneakers inspired by skaters’ culture, and mixing realities apparently far from a luxurious brand like Lanvin, but that amalgamate into the clothes in a perfect way.

This second collaboration really meets in the middle of the two labels. Lanvin’s tradition is projected in contemporary modernity but without forcing it, considering that its approach to streetwear is happening gradually. Instead, to Gallery Dept., is given space to further deepen its mysterious history. The latest collection is the result of a study so detailed that it comes spontaneous to wonder if the recently made announcement of the closure was real or, on the contrary, simply a marketing move to create more hype looking forward to this second release.
To know if Thomas’s brand will really close its doors we just have to wait, in the meantime, however, we can enjoy his fantastic creations thanks to the partnership with the French fashion house.
